Given below are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding AAA and our services. If you have any other questions feel free to contact us.
Since 2003, AAA Traffic Control has helped keep Sydney and New South Wales moving safely.
We’ve built our name on reliability, professionalism, and value — working with everyone from local builders and councils to Tier 1 contractors and government departments.
Our team is fully TfNSW-accredited and trained to deliver safe, compliant traffic management on every job. We prepare detailed Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS), arrange permits, and handle on-site delivery with accuracy and care.
AAA Traffic Control has supported major infrastructure upgrades, police operations, and council maintenance programs right across the state.
When you choose us, you get the same experienced crews who manage complex, large-scale projects and the type people who take pride in doing things safely, efficiently, and right the first time.
Getting a quote is easy. You can call our office on (02) 9675 7731 to talk directly with a project coordinator, or email your plans and scope to info@aaatc.com.au for a free, no-obligation quote.
If you’d prefer an in-person visit, we can arrange for one of our Project Managers to inspect your site and recommend the most suitable setup to keep your works compliant and cost-effective.
We keep the process quick and transparent from start to finish.
We know the traffic control market is competitive, but cheaper isn’t always better.
Because AAA owns its vehicles and employs its own trained staff (not labour-hire), we often provide better value and safer service at a similar or lower price.
Our clients often come to us because there current providers are bloating there projects with additional Council fees or personnel. We provide a clear outline of what will be required before starting.
If you’ve received a cheaper quote, send it through and our Managing Director personally reviews major pricing and, in most cases, we can match or beat it while maintaining our safety and quality standards.
We work fast. Most quotes are sent out within 24 hours of receiving your information. For urgent works, events, or emergency call-outs, we can prepare same-day pricing and mobilise crews within hours.
We understand timing matters in construction and maintenance, our operations team is built for quick turnaround and clear communication.
Yes, our site inspections are free of charge. One of our Project Managers will visit, check access points, assess vehicle and pedestrian movements, and recommend the safest, most efficient traffic setup.
During the visit, we can:
To book, simply email info@aaatc.com.au or call (02) 9675 7731.
Our crew arrives on time, in full PPE, and fully briefed on your approved plan. The site supervisor will introduce themselves, confirm the TGS layout with you, and ensure you’re comfortable before setup begins.
We take care of all cones, signage, barriers, VMS boards, TMAs, and pedestrian management following current TfNSW and council standards. Once the work is complete, we pack up safely, tidy the area, and provide any photos or reports you may need. You can expect a professional, safe, and well-organised operation from start to finish.
Absolutely. AAA Traffic Control holds full coverage and certification, including:
All staff are TfNSW-accredited, and we operate under strict WHS, environmental, and quality systems to guarantee safety and compliance at all times.
We service all of NSW mainly Sydney Metro, Greater Western Sydney, the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong, and Regional NSW. Our fleet and team can be mobilised anywhere in the state 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Yes, our planning team looks after everything. We prepare the required TMPs and TGSs, submit Road Occupancy Licence (ROL) applications, and liaise directly with TfNSW, local councils, and NSW Police.
You’ll receive regular updates until all approvals are finalised.
We manage all kinds of traffic management work, including:
No matter the size or complexity, we deliver each project with the same attention to detail, communication, and safety focus that define AAA Traffic Control.
In short no, not really. AAA Traffic Control has been operating since 2003 and has managed just about every type of traffic scenario you can imagine. From high-security police operations and night works on major highways to delicate residential jobs and event closures, our team has the experience, training, and equipment to manage it safely and efficiently.
Because we handle everything in-house — including Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS), ROL applications, council permits, and on-site crews — we rarely need to rely on external providers. That means more control, faster response, and consistent quality.
The only situations outside our scope are those requiring formal authority control, such as police-managed crime scenes or emergency incidents before control is handed over. Even then, we’re often called in to support once it’s safe to do so. If it involves traffic, pedestrians, or public safety, AAA Traffic Control can handle it.
Experience, reliability, and transparency set us apart. AAA Traffic Control has been operating since 2003, earning a reputation for professionalism and consistency across hundreds of projects statewide. Unlike many smaller operators, we own our fleet, employ our crews directly, and manage everything internally from Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and council permits to on-site setup and reporting.
That means no delays waiting on subcontractors, no hidden mark-ups, and a team that’s fully accountable to you from start to finish. We combine big-project capability with small-business care a balance that keeps our clients coming back year after year.
Safety is the foundation of everything we do. All of our personnel are TfNSW-accredited and trained under current WHS and environmental standards. Before every job, our supervisors conduct a detailed site risk assessment, toolbox talk, and review of the approved Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS) to confirm everyone understands their role.
We also maintain strict equipment checks, incident-reporting systems, and compliance audits under our ISO 45001 Safety Management System. Whether it’s a short-term road closure or a long-term infrastructure project, you can rely on AAA Traffic Control to keep your workers and the public safe at all times.
Absolutely. AAA Traffic Control regularly manages multi-agency operations, long-term infrastructure programs, and high-security government works. Our internal team includes planners, allocators, project managers, and on-site supervisors who coordinate seamlessly across multiple crews and locations.
We’ve supported projects for organisations like ANSTO, Transport For NSW, Sydney Trains, and local councils — each requiring precise planning, compliance with multiple authorities, and real-time communication. With our own fleet of vehicles, TMA trucks, VMS boards, and equipment, AAA is fully equipped to deliver complex projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
AAA Traffic Control provides comprehensive traffic management services, including traffic guidance schemes along with an array of other plans, road stakeholder permit approvals, accredited traffic controllers, equipment hire, and emergency response traffic management. Our services ensure a safe and smooth flow of traffic, helping to minimise delays and reduce the risk of accidents.
At AAA Traffic Control, we offer a wide range of equipment, from traffic cones and portable traffic control devices to truck mounted attenuators (TMA) and variable message signs (VMS). Our equipment is of the highest quality, and we adhere to strict safety protocols to ensure the safety of both road users and our workers. We provide all necessary safety equipment, and our personnel are trained in safe work practices.
Yes, AAA Traffic Control has extensive experience in handling large scale projects, such as Motorway/Highway projects, Civil and Construction projects, and special events. We have a team of highly trained and experienced traffic control personnel who are equipped to manage traffic flows efficiently backed by an efficient office team. We take pride in our ability to adapt to different environments and handle any situation with professionalism and expertise.
At AAA Traffic Control, safety is our top priority. We follow strict safety protocols to ensure that both our workers and road users are safe at all times. We provide all necessary safety equipment, and our personnel are trained in safe work practices. We also conduct regular safety audits to ensure that our procedures are up-to-date and effective.
Booking a traffic control service with AAA Traffic Control is easy. You can call us directly or fill out the below contact form, and our team will get in touch with you to discuss your requirements and provide you with a quote. With AAA Traffic Control, you can expect a high level of professionalism and expertise, as well as a commitment to providing the best possible service to ensure the safety and efficiency of your project or event.
A traffic guidance scheme (TGS) is a plan which outlines the layout and positioning of traffic control devices, such as signs, cones, traffic controllers, PTCD’s, vehicles, and arrowboards. It provides a clear and consistent visual guide for road users and helps to manage traffic flows in a safe and efficient manner.
A traffic management plan (TMP) is a comprehensive document that outlines how traffic will be managed and controlled in a specific area or during an event. It is typically required for any situation where traffic flows need to be managed, such as construction sites, roadworks, and events, and is essential for ensuring the safety of workers, road users, and the general public.
A Construction Traffic Management Plan (CTMP) outlines how traffic will be managed and controlled on a construction site, including traffic control measures, signage, traffic flows, and emergency procedures. It’s crucial for ensuring the safety of workers and the public, reducing the risk of accidents and delays, and complying with local laws and regulations.
While TCAWS regulations allow anyone to design a Traffic Guidance Scheme or Traffic Management Plan, it’s highly recommended to engage with a professional traffic management service provider who has the necessary expertise, knowledge, and experience to ensure that the plan is safe, efficient, and compliant with TCAWS regulations in NSW. At times the local council or TMC will ask for the person who designed the TGS or TMP to show their PWZTMP accreditation on the plan.
Depending on the project or event, you may need to obtain approvals from the TfNSW TMC, local government authorities, the police, or other relevant parties for your Traffic Management. As a professional traffic management service provider AAA Traffic Control can assist with this process and ensure that all necessary approvals are obtained before implementing the traffic management on-site.
